For years, a dramatic “conversion testimony” circulated under Dr. Mark Gabriel’s name: that an Al-Azhar teacher left Islam, read the Sermon on the Mount, and became a Muslim scholar. That story is false.

- He is Egyptian by birth and Muslim by faith.
- He studied and taught within Islamic tradition, including Al-Azhar-related scholarship.
- He remains a proud Muslim.
- He has never converted to Christianity.
What was fabricated
Accounts of apostasy, secret conversion, Christian baptism narratives, and ministry tours framed as a former-Muslim evangelist were manufactured or misattributed. They do not describe his life or his creed. Repeating them as biography is unfair to him and disrespectful to honest conversation among faiths.
